He attended Voorhees College for his pre-university education, later earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Economics from Loyola College in Chennai. Dr. GV also graduated in Law from Madras Law College and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 2003.
Dr. GV’s bold entry into politics as a student leader led to a parliamentary career representing the Indian Parliament, marked by championing the concerns of the people and a global perspective gained through international delegations. During his decade in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, he was a Minister for two years. He adopted several villages to improve the quality of life for rural communities, and embarked on an ambitious project to plant one million saplings to transform Vellore into a greener and cooler town.
