Dr. Imran Haider is an Assistant Professor at VIT Business School, VIT University, Vellore. He earned his Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, where his research focused on optimization and AI-based approaches that enable smarter decision-making in real-world airline operations. His academic foundation spans an M.Tech. in Industrial and Production Engineering and a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, both from Aligarh Muslim University. At the intersection of operations research and applied AI, Dr. Haider’s work centers on building rigorous, scalable models that translate operational complexity into actionable insights for aviation and allied sectors. He teaches and mentors in areas related to operations and analytics, drawing on cross-disciplinary training to connect theory, computation, and implementation. Dr. Haider is passionate about using data and technology to make transportation, logistics, supply chains, and healthcare work more efficiently and sustainably. His research also explores how businesses can adapt to the digital age. He has shared his work in leading international journals, including Computers & Industrial Engineering, Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, and International Journal of Production Economics.
