Dr. Shivam Sakshi is an Assistant Professor at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore. Prior to his current position, Shivam worked for Indian Institute of Management Bangalore as a Postdoctoral Associate handling a GoI project in Karnataka. He holds a PhD from University of Debrecen, Hungary where he was a full fellowship awardee. Shivam has finished his Master of Business Administration degree from ABV-Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management Gwalior. His doctoral research investigates the consumer decision making styles of generation Y students in online markets. Shivam’s academic research encompasses a wide spectrum of research areas such as consumer decision making style, customer centricity, retail management, consumption behavior, virtual markets, and rural markets. Shivam has served as a Teaching Assistant at University of Debrecen form 2017 to 2021, teaching M.Sc. students various subjects including business, economy, rural development, etc. He is experienced in rural markets and has worked for National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR), Hyderabad. There he was in a management position as a senior project manager for a national project in India. His roles and responsibilities got him the opportunity to work closely with many government officials as well as engaged him in extensive field research. He has also served a research stay at Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode. Shivam’s academic and professional experiences are predominantly centered on teaching and research.
