Dr. Manoharan M. is a seasoned Finance Professor and Academic Administrator with over 34 years of combined experience in academia and industry, both in India and abroad. He brings 20 years of industry experience spanning automotive engineering, financial markets, and financial services.
At VIT, he has held several key leadership roles, including Head of Department, Associate Dean, and Dean. As Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Languages (SSL), he demonstrated strong leadership and strategic vision, resulting in:
  • Recruitment of over 50 faculty members across disciplines
  • Introduction of industry-partnered B.Com programs to foster practical, market-relevant education
  • Development of innovative B.Tech courses in Economics and Finance to encourage interdisciplinary learning
  • Significant improvement in the quality and volume of research output
  • Currently based at VIT, Vellore, Dr. Manoharan has accumulated over 14 years of academic experience, with specialization in banking, insurance, financial markets, and derivatives. He is widely recognized for his application-oriented teaching approach, particularly in equity valuation and financial derivatives. His research interests span asset pricing, banking, financial markets, and developing case studies.
